The 'Human' band were recently confirmed to be headlining the event on Friday, June 24 following their brief hiatus.
During the group's break, frontman Brandon Flowers released his solo debut Flamingo, while drummer Ronnie Vannucci is preparing to unveil his own project soon.
Speaking about the band's headline slot, a source told the Daily Star: "The boys will probably have a song each. Ronnie's got his new album coming out soon and he's got a really great voice.
"But whatever Dave [Keuning] does I'm sure it will be something a little weirder, though."
Vannucci recently revealed that the group are planning to meet up this week to start work on their fourth studio album.
Hard Rock Calling will take place in London's Hyde Park between June 24 and June 26 and will also include headline performances from Rod Stewart and Bon Jovi. Other acts confirmed to play include the Kaiser Chiefs, James and Adam Ant.
