The rapper, who has complained that US radio stations will not play his music, was performing a show in Salt Lake City when he treated fans.
He told The Mirror: "Salt Lake City was the craziest night of the tour - there was like no promotion for the show so only about 60 people turned up.
"We were backstage pouring all this drink, then we got on stage and were pouring alcohol down the audience's neck.
"I put a hundred quid's worth of tequila on the bar and announced it and the whole audience ran to the bar. There was no audience left, so I said come back and I'll get you more tequila after the show. Everybody was so drunk and jumping on stage - it was more like a party than a gig."
He is said to have repeated the gesture this week by getting everyone a tequila shot at the Ivor Novello Awards after party following his wins.
