Biffy Clyro will be named 'Best British Band' at the Nordoff Robbins Silver Clef Awards 2011.

The ceremony, which is due to take place on July 1, will be held at the Hilton on Park Lane, London.

The Silver Clef Awards were established in 1976 to support Nordoff Robbins, a charity providing music therapy to disadvantaged people of all ages and backgrounds across the UK.

Speaking of the prize, the group said: "We follow in the footsteps of some great bands who've received this award and we couldn't be happier with this honour.

"Music has been a massive part of our lives - just like it is for all the people Nordoff Robbins help."

Previously confirmed winners for this year's ceremony include Tinie Tempah, Annie Lennox and Status Quo.
