The 'Nude' five-piece released the album digitally back in February and physically in March. They have insisted that they were expecting the record to be a grower rather than an instant hit.
"With The King of Limbs, we all knew that it wasn't going to be an immediate record but a lot of great records have been 38 minutes long," the band's drummer Phil Selway told Drowned In Sound. "It's that old chestnut of a grower."
The musician also explained that the album was a "reaction" to their 2007 album In Rainbows.
"Every record that we've done has been a reaction to the last one and The King of Limbs carried on that tradition for us," he said.
The group released a newspaper alongside their eighth studio album titled The Universal Sigh, with queues of fans forming across the globe to grab a copy.
