John Butler Trio leads APRA music award nominations

The Australian group made it into the shortlist for the 'Blues and Roots Work of the Year', 'Most Played Australian Work' and the 'Song of the Year'.
Their single 'Revolution' will go up against Angus and Julia Stone hit 'Big Jet Plane', Kasey Chambers's 'Little Bird', Sia's 'Clap Your Hands' and Birds of Tokyo single 'Plans'.
Birds of Tokyo have also been nominated in the 'Most Played Australian Work' and 'Breakthrough Songwriter of the Year' categories.
Powderfinger picked up two nominations with track 'Burn Your Name' for the 'Rock Work of the Year' and the 'Most Played Australian Work', while Katy Perry's 'California Gurls' was nominated for the 'International Work of the Year'.
Brian McFadden could win the 'Dance Work of the Year' prize for his single 'Chemical Rush' if he beats the Potbelleez and Art Vs Science.
Other nominees include Lee Kernaghan for 'Country Work of the Year' and Hilltop Hoods for 'Urban Work of the Year'.
Angus and Julia Stone's 'Big Jet Plane' was awarded first place in the annual Triple J Hottest 100 songs earlier this year. Kasey Chambers also won the International Songwriting Competition recently.
The APRA Awards will be held on June 21 at the Carriageworks, Sydney.
