Lady GaGa topples Adele in Irish album chart

Lady GaGa's Born This Way has shot straight to number one in the Irish album chart.

The 'Judas' star displaces Adele, whose hugely-successful second album 21 slips to number two. Despite her long chart reign ending, Adele's 19 continues to perform strongly, slipping to number three.

The Kings of Leon return to the Top 10, as Come Around Sundown rises nine spots to number five. Enjoying a 15-place jump,Thin Lizzy's Waiting For An Alibi: The Collection charts at number six.

Outside the Top 10, Imelda May's Love Tattoo jumps eight to 12, while The Minutes' Marcata enters at 16.

Meanwhile, The Villagers' Becoming A Jackal LP sits at number 24, Alexis Jordan's self-titled debut is up seven at 33, and Britney Spears's Femme Fatale jumps 21 spots to 41.

Other new entries this week include The Prodigy at number 28 with World's On Fire and Storyfold's Rocket Science at 29.
