Talking to PopEater, the singer and actress revealed that while she has no certain plans to return to music, she is "itching" to do so in the near future.
"Nothing's set in stone yet, but I really miss recording and I miss being on tour. I'm definitely getting that itch again to get back into the studio," she said.
She also revealed her thoughts on being a role model to young girls, explaining: "Where I came from, I had a big responsibility, I felt, towards young girls to kind of set a good example. It was never a burden, though.
"I took it seriously and I liked my place and tried to respect it and live my life at the same time as freely as I could. I don't think I'm perfect and I'm sure I made mistakes along the way but I do think I did a good job setting good examples."
Duff married long-time boyfriend Mike Comrie last year and has since said that becoming a wife has changed her life.
She previously said that she would return to music when she feels "really inspired".
