The 'Unorthodox' rapper believes that current grime and hip-hop artists are setting the music scene up for new talent to flourish in.
"It's a bit like when Run DMC started up. We're making it better for the next generation to come through, and the Americans are embracing us too," he told the Daily Star.
Of Tinie Tempah's current success Stateside, Wretch 32 stated: "We were always talented but now we're getting the respect and accolades from outside while we've created a British sound.
"It's not a US rip-off and the reason we are so good right now is because we've had to strive to be better and better in order to compete with the US stars.
"To be taken seriously we had to be flawless and to sharpen our craft for years and years, so it's great to be part of that."
Responding to comments that he has become a natural rival to Tinie Tempah, Wretch 32 explained: "I don't think there's any need to steal anyone's crown. We're all doing different stuff. Tinie appeals to the cool kids. I'm about the personal lyrics.
"Tinie paved the way for me. He asked me on his first tour and I've never felt anything but love from him. A lot of new artists might feel wary of asking another new artist to do that but he didn't. He's such a cool guy. There's no rivalry at all."
Wretch 32 has previously admitted that he is scared of becoming too big.
The rapper has also joined the lineup for this year's V Festival alongside Eminem, Rihanna and Arctic Monkeys.
