Arctic Monkeys frontman Alex Turner has admitted that he doesn't mind that the band are compared to Oasis in the US.

The 'Don't Sit Down 'Cause I've Moved Your Chair' foursome, who released their fourth studio album Suck It And See on Monday, described Oasis as an important musical influence on them when they were growing up.

Asked whether he minds the comparisons, Turner told Reuters: "Not really, I mean, it's like we're both a British rock and roll band, we're kind of bound to get compared to Oasis in other countries.

"We are both from the North, similar haircut. But musically, it is a little bit different. I mean, we are huge fans of them, growing up and all that, they were a really important band for us. I don't mind being compared to Oasis at all."

The title of the rock group's new album has been censored in certain US retail outlets as companies feel the language used is "rude [and] disrespectful".
