Keith Urban 'planned tour around family'

Keith Urban has revealed that he planned his 2011 Get Closer tour with his family in mind.

Urban is married to Nicole Kidman, with whom he has two daughters. The singer spoke to a crowd of hundreds at Nashville's Municipal Auditorium about the difficulties of being on the road without his family, according to People.

"When I put this tour together, I structured it so I'm only gone maybe two or three days, maybe four days, - sometimes I do four days in a row," Urban said.

The 43-year-old went on to state that his family will accompany him during parts of the tour.

"When we go to Canada and we do three weeks, I'll bring the girls out for some of that run," Urban said.

The singer was recently nominated for a CMT Music Award for 'Male Video Of The Year', but lost out to The Voice judge Blake Shelton.

In April, Urban said that he doesn't want fans to feel "left out", stating that he wants everyone to feel as though they are a part of what he does.

Urban's 2011 Get Closer tour starts on June 16.
