Franz Ferdinand turn down £30 million ad

Franz Ferdinand have turned down a £30 million ad campaign that was predicted to quadrupled sales of their last album.
The band made the decision because they feared featuring in the ad in the United States would have damaged their credibility.
Frontman Alex Kapranos choose not to reveal the company behind the ad but did tell Scotland on Sunday:
"They wanted to do this huge thing that was going to have $50m spent on it. It would have meant we sold four times as many copies of the album, just from the extra exposure it would have got. But the advert meant we had to completely surrender all of our identity and integrity to this product that was being advertised."
