The pop five-piece explained that they are just finishing up the record, but don't have a set end date to complete it just yet.
Speaking to Digital Spy about the new album ahead of their performance at Capital FM's Summertime Ball, band member Tom Parker said: "It's getting there. We're still doing a couple of writing sessions - we've got one with Brian Higgins next week - so it's looking good."
Nathan Sykes added: "We're not going to try and set a date to finishing it until we absolutely have to because we just want to carry on writing even better tracks all the time."
The Wanted recently premiered the music video for their new single 'Glad You Came', which is due to be released on July 10.
