Christina's new album: "gritty and raw"

'Dirrty' singer Christina Aguilera has been exploring new influences for her upcoming album, calling it 'gritty and raw', but producers say fans will not be disappointed.
Since the release of her last album Stripped and following her marriage to music industry executive Jordan Bratman, the pop star has cleaned up her image. However, the old Christina has not disappeared completely.
The album features a song called 'Still Dirrty', and producer DJ Premier has revealed how Aguilera's sound has developed. He told MTV: "It's part two of the one she did on the last album, but the beat is totally different. It's more jazz-sampled with these horn blasts."
Titled Back to Basics, the new record includes a collaboration with rapper Nas, and also songs co-written by Linda Perry. She revealed: "People thought she could sing before — well, you haven't heard anything yet. But it's definitely a risky record. It's not Stripped at all. ... She's completely in a different space."
Perry added: "It's a very mature, very risky album [of] old-school jazzy blues. You're gonna think that these songs were recorded and written back in 1940."
Back to Basics is set to be released later this year.
