The Goo Goo Dolls have been forced to cancel a concert in Michigan, after a series of underground gas explosions occurred while fans were queueing to get into the venue.
Due to perform at the Emerald Theatre in Mount Clemens, the band were inside setting up when the ground shook and manhole covers flew into the air outside.
Talking to the Detroit News, the band's drum technician Shawn Dealey commented: “I felt it, and then I heard the big explosion. I then headed back to the theatre to get everyone out."
The town had to be evacuated, although no-one was injured. Local authorities explained that the explosions were caused by a faulty electricity cable that ignited pockets of natural gases.
