The 100% fan-made clip features a collection of videos sent in by Jackson lovers from across the globe with submissions from Russia, Japan, Jordan, the US and the UK.
The Dennis Liu-directed promo sees a range of fans show off their Michael Jackson-inspired outfits and choreography, as well as a number of people lipsyncing along to the track's vocal.
The 'Behind the Mask' project asked fans to submit their entries via the official website, with many people recording their performances on webcams directly onto the site.
The video contains 1,600 submissions from a variety of people of diverse ethnicity and age, including 50 children and 36 animals.
'Behind the Mask' is the third single to be taken from Jackson's first posthumous album Michael, which reached number three in the US and four in the UK.
Bee Gees singer Barry Gibb recently released a clip of himself and Jackson recording a duet together in 2002.
