GaGa previously confirmed that Khan, who helmed the music video for the song 'LoveGame', would serve as the director for 'The Edge of Glory' as well.
However, Khan announced via Twitter recently that he was not involved in the production of the music video, leading to speculation that GaGa had fired the director.
Khan's on-set editor Chancler Haynes tweeted the details of the original concept in a series of direct messages to a fan who then proceeded to release the messages, according to the New York Post.
"[Khan] had sets built for a hospital scene, Brooklyn Bridge, and a big underwater mermaid scene. It all made sense," Haynes wrote.
'The Edge of Glory' is inspired by the death of the singer's grandfather. It features E Street Band musician Clarence Clemons, who recently suffered a stroke.
