Amy Winehouse has cancelled two of her scheduled European tour dates in the wake of her maligned performance in Belgrade this weekend.

The British singer kicked off her tour in the Serbian capital last night, but was booed by the crowd after mumbling through much of her setlist and leaving the stage on numerous occasions.

A representative for the singer has now confirmed that dates in Istanbul, Turkey tomorrow and in Athens, Greece on Wednesday have been cancelled.

"[Amy] feels that this is the right thing to do," the spokesperson told BBC News. "[She] cannot perform to the best of her ability."

Winehouse underwent a short stay at the London Priory clinic at the end of May to begin treatment for alcohol addiction, before checking herself out earlier this month.

The singer's European tour will now resume in July with a performance in Bilbao, Spain.
