The 21-year-old Jonas Brothers star has revealed that he is a huge fan of Spears, but understands why the joint tour didn't come together in the end.
Jonas told E!: "The first CD that I ever bought was Britney Spears. It was at a 7-Eleven and I was like, 'Can I get this?' It was literally her EP and I picked it up and, of course, I fell in love with her. It was an early crush for me."
Talking about the prospective tour plans, he added: "At one point we were considering that. But they wanted to go with an all-girl tour, which is really understandable.
"Nicki Minaj is fantastic. So I have a couple of other options this summer that are looking pretty good. Nothing's really confirmed yet, whether it's going to be supporting someone on tour or just going out solo."
The 'See No More' singer, who is known for keeping his private life out of the media, added that a song on his upcoming debut solo album Fast Life is based on a past relationship.
"'I'm Sorry' is really honest. It's saying, 'I screwed up'. I didn't cheat on the person, but just I messed up and I wanted the person back. I'm just putting it all on the table saying, 'I'm sorry. I wish I could have you back'."
Jonas's new single 'See No More' will be released digitally on June 26, while his new album Fast Life will follow on September 5.
