The 'Set Fire To The Rain' songstress had to refuse the offer as she is under strict instructions to rest her voice after contracting acute laryngitis earlier this month.
"Adele was absolutely gutted, Beyoncé is one of her big heroes. It would have been the stuff of dreams to perform with her - the gig of her life," a source told The Sun.
"But docs have told her she's got to rest her voice or risk damaging her prized asset. She hopes one day they can do something together."
Beyoncé played a 17-track set, which included her hits 'Single Ladies' and 'Irreplaceable' as well as a Kings of Leon cover and a Destiny's Child medley, to a packed-out field of 175,000 festival-goers.
The 29-year-old performer described her headline performance at the Somerset festival as one of her career highlights, stating that the "night was a dream".
