Lauren Laverne laughs off web reaction to Zane Lowe

Lauren Laverne has laughed off the internet response to Zane Lowe appearing to mock her summary of Beyoncé's headlining set at Glastonbury.

The former Kenickie singer compared Beyoncé's performance to classic disco and George Clinton's Parliament in a minute-long monologue about the ex-Destiny's Child star's set.

When asked to give his opinion in the final few seconds of the link, Lowe burst into giggles before cueing up the next live clip.

The incident caused both Laverne and Lowe's names to trend on Twitter and Laverne expressed surprise at the online response.

"*Reads the Internet* Oh. Oh, dear," she wrote on the social networking website.

When it was suggested that Lowe's laughter was a response to her "amazing monologue", Laverne replied: "EXACTLY."

Another Twitter user joked that Laverne had claimed "Beyoncé was better than Jesus & Zane urinated on a photo of her whilst punching a kitten?", prompting her to quip: "Pretty much. It went quite well! *Thumbs up*"

She concluded: "Dear internet, If you'd like to let me know when you've stopped being all mental and we can hang out again, I'll be in the paddling pool. Lx."
