Adele, Gwyneth Paltrow, Tinie Tempah and Jay-Z were among the stars who watched Beyoncé perform a special showcase at London's Shepherd's Bush Empire last night.

Jessie J, Glee cast members, Ewan McGregor, Alexandra Burke, Stella McCartney, Sugababes star Jade Ewen, JLS singer JB, Paloma Faith and comedian Steven K Amos were also in attendance to watch the performer, following her headline Glastonbury set on Sunday night.

The 29-year-old singer performed a selection of new and old hits to celebrate the release of her fourth studio album 4.

After opening the show with her recent single 'Run The World (Girls)', Beyoncé explained to an excited audience: "I'm still high from yesterday at Glastonbury."

She added: "Today is a special day because my new album is out."

The former Destiny's Child member then performed her new single 'Best Thing I Never Had', prompting the crowd to sing the chorus back at her.

Visibly overjoyed by the public reaction to her new material, Beyoncé then confessed that she didn't have a running order planned for the evening.

"I don't have setlist. I just want to have fun and celebrate the album coming out," she beamed.

Beyoncé then announced that she would perform a track that she couldn't fit into her Glastonbury set, stating: "Y'know what? There was a song I was supposed to do, but didn't have time. It's called 'Bohemian Rhapsody'."

She brought her backing singers, The Mommas, to the front of the stage to sing a rendition of the Queen classic.

The singer then asked the crowd what they would like to hear before breaking into renditions of 'Listen', 'Single Ladies' and concluding the evening with 'Halo'.

As the gig was taking place in Shepherd's Bush a huge promotional image for Beyoncé's new record 4 was projected onto Battersea Power Station.
