The guitarist told NME that the band gave each other black eyes while on an exhausting tour of America in 1992.
He said: "Blur did occasionally [have punch-ups] when we were very tired in 1992 in America. I think we all had black eyes at one point.
"We were probably drunk when we gave each other black eyes so we didn't really feel it, we just woke up with them."
He added that one particular massive argument the band had started when bassist Alex James threw a salmon out of a window.
"I think when Alex threw a salmon out of the window in Paris and we were really upset with him. He was being fanatically vegetarian."
Coxon also revealed that he will be releasing a new solo album later this year. He recently revealed that stories of Blur recording a new album were just rumours.
