Beyoncé '4' on course for US album number one

By
Beyonce '4'
Beyoncé is on course to enter the US Billboard 200 chart at number one with her latest release 4.

The 29-year-old is predicted to shift up to 300,000 units in the US by Sunday, which will put her in pole position above last week's number one Hell: The Sequel by Eminem and Royce Da 5'9".

The figure is a slight drop in first-week sales for Beyoncé, with her last effort - 2008's I Am... Sasha Fierce - launching with 482,000 sales.

However, an overall decrease in record sales since 2008 and differing release timings - with 4 being released in a quiet June period compared to I Am's busy pre-Christmas slot - should be taken into consideration.

Beyoncé is also on course to top the UK album chart this Sunday after entering the midweek chart at number one following her dazzling Glastonbury performance and a secret London show earlier this week.
