The former X Factor contestant released her debut Songs From The Tainted Cherry Tree in 2010. It was followed later that year by standalone single 'My Wicked Heart'.
In a Facebook Q&A session with fans, Vickers confirmed that she is progressing with work on the follow-up.
Vickers said: "I really believe in the new album, and [think] that so far as a whole it could be a big corker!
"To make a perfect album it takes some TLC and you can't rush these things. I'm well on my way with the album and I want it out as much as all of my fans but these things take time. But not too long."
Asked if the LP will feature any covers - her first record included a reworking of The Sugarcubes' 1991 single 'Hit' - Vickers replied: "I'd love to take a song I really love and put my own stamp on it, its just a case of getting the perfect song and doing it justice."
Vickers added of her future tour plans: "I will be touring when the new album is out next year. I will keep all the fans up to date on tour dates and places. Can't wait to get back on the road again."
