The former Libertines frontman will release his new EP Death Fires Come At Night on July 18, following on from his self-titled debut solo album which was released last October.
"I like playing small venues. It's really to be up there and you can get an intimacy that you don't really get if you're playing a big gig. I find it as nerve-wracking as playing Wembley or something," Barat said about the small show.
The 33-year-old singer-songwriter will precede the EP's release with an appearance at this weekend's Hop Farm Music Festival at Paddock Wood, Kent.
Barat recently revealed that he hopes to write a third Libertines album with fellow band member Pete Doherty in the future.
