A rock supergroup playing under the name of Rd Crusaders raised $3.4 million by playing a gig for charity in London.
The band, whose members included the Who's Roger Daltrey, Led Zeppelin's Robert Plant and Lulu, raised the money for the Evelina Children's Hospital Appeal.
Organised by newspaper proprietor Richard Desmond, the audience was made up of celebrities and businessmen, including Kevin Spacey and Mohamed Al Fayed.
Roger Daltrey said, "We were talking about ways we could raise money for charity and I said to Richard that I would sing in any band put together. He went away and the names he came back with were fantastic."
