RHCP release long-awaited album

The Red Hot Chili Peppers have released their highly-anticipated new album, Stadium Arcadium.
Featuring 28 tracks split over two disks entitled Jupiter and Mars, it marks the ninth full-legth release from the successful band.
Explaining the mammoth number of tracks, lead singer Anthony Kiedis said: "We set out to write 13 songs, but as has been the case every time we've tried to do that, we ended up with 30-some-odd songs. The difference this time was we ended up liking all of those songs and finishing all of those songs, and it actually became a very difficult process to even whittle it down to 28."
Speaking to Spin a few months ago, Kiedis revealed: "The chemistry was in better order than in a long time. Everyone is frighteningly happy at the moment."
He added that his lyrics explore "the dark and nefarious side of Los Angeles, but not in a judgmental sense."
Bassist Flea finds there is a more spiritual side to the record, commenting: "I think we're aware that we're all vehicles of something much bigger than ourselves, and we also know it's up to us to do the footwork to get in a position to receive all this energy flying around."
First single 'Dani California' has already been released, and the album will be available in a limited-edition black box including added extras such as a DVD with the video for the single and behind-the-scenes footage, as well as a one-hour long interview with the band.
