Arctic Monkeys close T In The Park's opening night: Video

Arctic Monkeys headlined T in the Park last night, bringing the opening night of the Scottish festival to a close.

The band, who were celebrating guitarist Jamie Cook's 26th birthday, were also joined on the Main Stage by Miles Kane for the finale of their set, finishing with the track '505' from 2007's Favourite Worst Nightmare.

"It's Jamie Cook's birthday today everybody, so anytime it goes quiet at all this evening, you just start singing 'Happy Birthday'," frontman Alex Turner said at the beginning of the set, before leading the crowd in singing the song to Cook.

Later, as he introduced Kane to the stage, Turner said:"Not only is he our best friend, but our best dressed friend."

Prior to the show, drummer Matt Helders told NME that having four albums meant the band could do a "good mixture" of songs.

Kane recently supported Arctic Monkeys at the iTunes Festival.
