The 'Best Thing I Never Had' star, who preceded Coldplay on the main stage, required blasts of oxygen throughout her set to maintain her energy levels for her highly-choreographed routines.
"A lot of performers have oxygen masks now when they're putting on such a full-on performance," a source told the Daily Star.
"Beyoncé certainly deserved that extra boost when she was giving it so much welly."
The 29-year-old singer retained her number one position in the UK album chart with her new record 4 for a second week on Sunday.
The former Destiny's Child member is also on course to achieve the same feat in the US after the album entered the Billboard 200 chart at number one last Thursday.
