Jay Electronica tweeted earlier this week that he collaborated with the legendary rock star, saying: "What if I told you we even got David Bowie singing bg vox [background vocals] on a record?"
However, a statement on Bowie's website denied the report.
"Following reports of tweets suggesting a vocal contribution yesterday, we can tell you that David Bowie is not singing on the new album by Jay Electronica," the statement read.
Bowie had to deny reports linking him to a collaboration with Lady GaGa on a track called 'Vinyl' last year.
He also denied rumours that he is working on a comedy film project with Mick Jagger, describing it as "piffle".
Rapper Jay Electronica is signed to Jay-Z's Roc Nation record label. He has collaborated with Lupe Fiasco and Nas in the past, and is married to singer Erykah Badu.
