The annual awards, which coincide with the Barclaycard Mercury Prize announcement, name the 12 contenders for best pop singles as chosen by Popjustice.
Adele's 'Rolling In The Deep' and Nicola Roberts's debut solo single 'Beat Of My Drum' have received nods, while other contenders include Jessie J's 'Do It Like A Dude' and Joe McElderry's 'Ambitions'.
The winner will be decided by a group of specially-chosen Popjustice readers in September.
Example won the tongue-in-cheek accolade last year with his single 'Kickstarts', but claimed that he never received the prize on Twitter.
If Nicola Roberts wins the competition, it will be her sixth award from Popjustice, as she has previously won five Twenty Quid Music Prizes as part of Girls Aloud.
The 2011 Popjustice Twenty Quid Music Prize nominees are as follows:
- Adele: 'Rolling In The Deep'
- Hurts: 'Stay'
- Jessie J: 'Do It Like A Dude'
- Joe McElderry: 'Ambitions'
- Mark Ronson & The Business Intl ft. Boy George: 'Somebody To Love Me'
- Nadia Oh: 'Taking Over The Dancefloor'
- Nicola Roberts: 'Beat Of My Drum'
- The Saturdays: 'Higher'
- Sunday Girl: 'Stop Hey'
- Take That: 'The Flood'
- The Wanted: 'All Time Low'
- Yasmin: 'Finish Line'
