Demi Lovato thanks Jordin Sparks for 'Skyscraper' cover: 'It was beautiful'

Demi Lovato has thanked Jordan Sparks for her "beautiful" cover of new track 'Skyscraper'.

Lovato originally recorded the track before seeking treatment at a rehab centre last year, calling it her "cry for help" in a recent interview.

The 18-year-old premiered the track on Ryan Seacrest's radio show last week and later released the accompanying music video, which features her dressed in white and standing alone in the desert.

Sparks has now posted an acoustic rendition of 'Skyscraper' on her official website, saying: "Demi did an amazing job with it and I'd like to put my spin on it."

Lovato voiced her appreciation for the cover version on her Twitter account, telling Sparks: "You covered skyscraper BEAUTIFULLY!!! One of the best voices of our generation... thank you SO much girlie. You're so sweet!!! (sic)"

Sparks responded: "Thank you mamas! It spoke to me & you cant help but feel the song & let it take you over! That is the power of music! <3"

'Skyscaper' has been nominated in the 'Choice Summer Song' category at this summer's Teen Choice 2011, while Lovato has been named in the 'Choice Female Music Star' group alongside Beyoncé, Selena Gomez, Katy Perry and Britney Spears.
