The tragedy echoes the deaths of some of the world's most respected musicians, who have all died at age 27. Nirvana frontman Kurt Cobain, The Doors' lead singer Jim Morrison, legendary guitarist Jimi Hendrix and singer Janis Joplin all form what has become known as the '27 Club'.
Others include founding member of the Rolling Stones, Brian Jones, and Manic Street Preachers guitarist Richey Edwards, who disappeared in 1995 and was presumed dead at the age of 27.
Various causes of deaths were recorded for the stars, such as drug overdoses, suicides and murder. Many have gone on to become even more famous in death as their memory is romanticised due to their untimely demises.
