The former Led Zeppelin frontman performed to a crowd of 200 people at a concert being held at Bridges Community Centre in Monmouthshire, Wales.
Plant's show was a tribute to his friend and former co-producer Pat Moran, who died of a rare dementia back in January, BBC News reports.
The audience were treated to renditions of his solo material, as well as a few select hits from Led Zeppelin's back catalogue.
The event's organiser and Moran's brother Brian said: "It was very kind of Mr Plant to join in - Pat would have been very proud.
"Mr Plant was even kind enough to sign a T-shirt which will be auctioned on eBay this week."
The gig has managed to raise £1,500 so far for the Pick's Disease Support Group, with the auctioned T-shirt still to be added to that total.
Earlier this year, Plant claimed that he finds it hard to relate to his former band Led Zeppelin and admitted that he is frustrated by the continuing speculation of their reformation.
