The former X Factor contestant parted company from label RCA earlier this month.
Vickers previously told fans that she wants to "make a perfect album" with the follow-up to her chart-topping debut Songs From The Tainted Cherry Tree.
Asked about her new songs, Vickers told More: "It's pop, but it's different from the last one.
"I've grown up and have a lot more I want to write about. I was influenced by '80s Madonna, it's edgy - it definitely has an attitude."
Vickers has reportedly been working with Starsailor frontman James Walsh on her new material. She previously revealed that she had collaborated with 'Un-Break My Heart' writer Diane Warren.
The singer-songwriter had initially planned to re-release her debut with standalone single 'My Wicked Heart' and other new tracks but later told Digital Spy that she would move straight on to her second release.
