Last month, rapper Mike Shonida revealed that a follow-up to 2010's A Thousand Suns will soon be on its way.
Bennington has now told Rolling Stone that the band are "well on [the] way" to finishing their latest album, and that they plan to release it next year.
"We're in the studio and we're well on our way to making our next record," he said. "I can tell you that we have a lot of good music, a lot of quality songs."
Bennington added that the band plan to tour less and put out material more often. Linkin Park have previously taken two-and-a-half to four years between new album releases.
The singer also said that it would be "awesome" to release a new album every 18 months.
Bennington recently opened up about his alcoholic and abusive past.
