The 'Don't Speak' band will release their follow-up to 2001's Rock Steady later this year, and are reportedly close to completing it.
Songs on the album include 'Easy', 'Heaven' and 'Dreaming the Same Dream', which Stefani has described as "a prom song".
Speaking about whether the album will have a theme or concept, she told Q: "We wish we were good enough to craft it and have a vision, but our songwriting process is sort of desperate - we're just praying that something comes out."
The singer added that she usually works on the album from 5pm to midnight, after caring for her children, designing for her fashion line LAMB and "working out" during the day.
"That's the horror of any creative person," she added. "To have to be creative between certain times."
No Doubt have worked on the album with Major Lazer, who have previously produced for the likes of Beyoncé and Nicola Roberts.
