The former Spice Girl is currently working on her fourth studio album, which is expected to be released later this year.
However, Murs admitted that he was approached to feature on the record, but decided against the collaboration as he was not sure it was the right move for his career.
"I turned her down," he told Capital FM. "I just wasn't too sure, it didn't feel right."
He added: "She's married and she's got kids, I'm not sure it would work."
Halliwell has reportedly teamed up with writers and producers she worked with as a Spice Girl in the '90s.
Meanwhile, Olly Murs is preparing to release his new single 'Heart Skips A Beat' on August 22.
