The actor told BBC 6 Music that he and comedy partner Noel Fielding recorded the LP in New York.
Barrett said: "We haven't put it out yet but we've done the recording. It sounds good. We recorded it at Electric Lady Studios - they did quite a good deal."
He added that the duo aim to release the album at the same time as a movie version of the show. However, Barrett said that work on the film project has yet to begin.
"We're just waiting for a time to put [the album] out really. I don't know, when we get round to writing the next film or something we'll tie it in and release it together," he said.
Last year, Fielding revealed that he hoped The Mighty Boosh would be part of a film trilogy.
