Mercer will be backed by Richard Swift, Jessica Dobson, Modest Mouse drummer Joe Plummer and Crystal Skulls star Yuuki Matther on a clutch of upcoming tour dates.

The Shins' upcoming US tour dates are as follows:
  • August 8 - Eugene, OR - W.O.W. Hall
  • August 9 - Bend, OR - The Domino Room
  • August 10 - Portland, OR - The Doug Fir Lounge

  • September 22 - Toronto, Ontario - Phoenix Concert Theatre
  • September 23 - Philadelphia, PA - Popped! Festival
  • September 24 - Boston, MA - Paradise Rock Club
  • October 15 - Pensacola, FL - DeLuna Festival

The band's former keyboard player Marty Crandall was arrested in 2008 and their ex-drummer Jesse Sandoval revealed in 2009 that he had been sacked from the group.
