The 43-year-old singer, who is the frontman of the band Suede, created Black Rainbows alongside producer Leo Abrahams, drummer Seb Rochford and musician Leopold Ross over a three-day period in January last year.
Anderson has described the LP as "restless, noisy and dynamic", adding that it features "electric guitars, bass, drums and vocals - no flute players, no strings, no gimmicks, just passion".
Black Rainbows is scheduled for release on September 26 and the first single, 'Brittle Heart', will be downloadable from August 15.
Anderson is also due to play two live concerts in October this year; at Manchester's Club Academy on October 11 and at London club Koko the next day. Tickets are on sale now.
In March this year, Anderson said that Suede were working collectively on new material, but that the songs would only be released if he was completely happy with them. He has previously expressed "regret" at the group's final studio release, saying that he hated the negative response from the public.
