Monkeys test new bassist in low-key gig
The Arctic Monkeys made their first live performance with their new bassist in a low-key gig last night.

After regular bass player Andy Nicholson pulled out of their Canadian tour due to fatigue, Nick O'Malley stepped up to fill in. The band played East London's 120 capacity Old Blue Last pub to get some live experience under their belts before embarking on the tour tomorrow.

During their 40 minute set, the Sheffield group confirmed that 'Leave Before the Lights Come On' will be released as a summer single. NME quote singer Alex Turner as saying: "We’re going to play our new single for you now. It’s straight out of the hit factory. This is our summer hit, watch out for it."
