Blunt too boring for listeners
Published Monday, May 29 2006, 16:53 BST | By David Cribb
James Blunt has been taken off one radio station's playlist, as he annoys too many listeners.
Essex FM claim too many people wrote in complaining about Blunt's songs, and so they have dropped his music for a couple of days.
Programme controller Chris Cotton said: "It was quite staggering. People said, 'Can you get rid of him?' 'Can you ban him?' Even people who say they are fans of his songs go on to express that they're sick of it."
Essex FM plan to analyse customer feedback over the course of the next few days, to see if dropping Blunt has had the right effect.
