The glam rockers were announced as the latest act to join the bill on Monday, but fans of the late King Of Pop protested against their inclusion in the celebrations.
The anger towards the inclusion of the band at the show at Cardiff's Millennium Stadium on October 8 stems from comments made by Gene Simmons following the singer's death in June 2009.
The Kiss frontman insisted that he was convinced Jackson was guilty of the child molestation claims that plagued him during the '90s and '00s.
The concert's organisers Global Events Live have now described the booking as an "oversight", reports Billboard.
The company's CEO Chris Hunt said: "Under the circumstances, we fully agree that even though Kiss is a band Michael admired, we have no choice but to rescind our invitation to them to appear in our tribute concert."
Jackson was ultimately acquitted of all charges of child molestation that were brought against him.
Jackson's brothers Jermaine and Randy recently criticised the concert for its timing as it will coincide with the trial of the singer's doctor Conrad Murray, who faces charges linked to his death.
Christina Aguilera, Leona Lewis and Cee Lo Green are confirmed to perform at the concert.
