The bassist will play the gig in Seattle on September 20 to mark the 20th anniversary of the album.
Proceeds from the one-off show will be donated to the Seattle music industry figure Susie Tennant, who was recently diagnosed with cancer, Rolling Stone reports.
Novoselic will be joined on stage by a number of local musicians. However, former Nirvana drummer and now Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl will not perform at the concert.
The band will release special remastered editions of Nevermind on September 19, with a super deluxe version of the record to contain rare live sessions and B-sides.
An exhibition will also be held in London, which will contain a collection of rare photography, memorabilia and artefacts related to the band and album.
Nevermind has sold more than 30 million copies worldwide since its release in September 1991.
