The former Beatle will release his upcoming composition Ocean's Kingdom on October 3.
The album will follow the opening of the dance show at the New York City Ballet on September 22.
An additional four performances will take place throughout September, with a further five booked for January 2012, reports Billboard.
The show is a 90-minute performance of a love story that takes place underwater. The peaceful kingdom of the sea then comes under attack from human intervention.
McCartney's composition will be conducted by John Wilson and performed by the London Classical Orchestra.
Speaking about the ballet composition, McCartney explained: "[I was] trying to write something that expressed an emotion - so you have fear, love, anger, sadness to play with, and I found that exciting and challenging."
Ocean's Kingdom will be released through record label Decca, who famously rejected The Beatles 50 years ago saying they had "no future in showbusiness".
McCartney recently revealed that he was once advised to retire at the age of 50 by his former manager.
