The 'Baby' singer took to Twitter to announce the news, revealing that he hopes to raise money for charity from the album.
"so it's true...been in the studio doing something special for christmas. we are going to try and raise alot of money this year for charity! (sic)," Bieber wrote.
The 17-year-old went on to say that the record will feature "some classics and then some originals".
Bieber recently made a surprise appearance at Taylor Swift's Los Angeles concert, joining the singer on stage for a duet of 'Baby'.
Earlier this month, will.i.am suggested that Bieber could be the next Michael Jackson, insisting that the singer has the potential to establish a long career.
