The X Factor champion and the Fame Academy winner co-wrote songs due to feature on Cardle's upcoming solo record, reports The Sun.
Sneddon, who won the BBC singing competition in 2002, has removed himself from the spotlight to become a songwriter and also recently worked with Manchester band Hurts.
Cardle's debut album Letters will be released in the UK on October 17, with his first single proper 'Run For Your Life' available on October 10.
Robbie Williams songwriter Guy Chambers recently described Cardle's new material as "powerful and emotive" and likened it to Coldplay, Snow Patrol and Travis.
