The Beady Eye frontman was locked in legal proceedings with his fellow ex-Oasis star, but the case was dropped after Noel apologised for claiming Liam pulled out of V Festival 2009 because of a "hangover".
"Listen, that had to happen. I don't take lightly to be called a fraud," Liam insisted to BBC 6 Music.
"I feel sad but I feel a lot sadder that there are people walking around thinking that I wouldn't get out of bed 'cos I had a few beers.
"I've called the dogs off a little bit but there's still a few things that need to be cleared up. I didn't like doing it and it hurts a lot of people around it but it had to be done."
Despite the case being officially dropped last Wednesday, Liam has since claimed that the battle is not over yet.
