George Michael has said he is happy about his recent bad press as it helps him promote his new single.
"In all honestly it does me good," the singer said. "I take crap for a couple of weeks but it promotes my new single. I hate to say it but it's true."
Michael was arrested for possessing marijuana earlier this year and was also questioned by the police after being accused of hitting three vehicles whilst driving.
The former Wham star said what has been written about him lately is only "50 per cent true" but useful. "I don't want to do regular promotion, so it does me good."
